Great work! Congratulations to towne, harmy and all the people involved. The new updates are amazing!
Just a little report, maybe it’s how is supposed to be the colors but I realized that in some scenes the flesh tones are a little bit yellow compared with 2.6 version (the differences are barely noticeable) Is it perhaps because the tweaks are based on the higher resolution 2.5. version? Or this was intentional?
Anyway I really love the final result of 2.7 version, the new lightsaber glow in ben’s hut or the new greedo subtitles are pretty good 😃

I’ve been following this thread for a couple months now, and I seriously think this is the second best restoration of the unaltered original, next to Mike Verta’s restoration (I really hope Disney and Fox consider releasing the TRUE originals). To Harmy, towne32, and anyone that is working on the Despecialized edition with excellent color correction, keep up the great work. 😃
It’s probably just me, and I’m using the v2.5 Despecialized, but in the beginning of Mos Eisley scene with Obi-Wan using Mind Trick on the stormtrooper to get through, I see that the colors are a little bit yellow (or orange) in the stormtrooper’s visor, and the shadows (Probably the nature of this film?).
Again it’s probably just me, so I might be wrong, considering it is the desert scene, but also in the beginning of that scene, there seems to be some sort of blue outline in front of the building the stormtrooper on the top right is standing next to, (?) on the edge of that stormtrooper’s helmet…

All that aside, that is truly a great restoration. I see about no changes that are present in the “Special Editions.” If you happen to have the time, and whenever you get around to it, could you send a PM for the v2.7 as well?

It’s not just you. Mos Eisley and some Falcon cockpit shots were most of the reason I started to work on this. And then it just snowballed from there.

i believe the status is “completed but not blessed”, so presumably Harmy will give some sort of “Prepare my ship” statement and then it will be released widely.

As far as I can tell, the smaller AVCHD version is being made available to those who would like to see it, but the full mkv hasn’t been put out until a comparison gallery is done as well as some other things Harmy likes to include in releases, plus I think towne32 said he’d be on travel for a number of days. After all of that is out of the way, it sounds like we should see a proper release through the usual channels.
