Moderated Off-Topic:
the other sections of the forum are moderated. Are they like that? And the proposal here was lighter moderation than they get.
They typically have a purpose as indicated by their over-arching topic heading…as such there is a natural guard by which to steer future discussions…
Off Topic has no such guidelines and as such is driven more by the various personalities retorting off of one another in a constant play of oneupmanship…remove the rougher elements and we will most likely devolve to mere pleasantries and tepid conversations with ever waning interest.
An imagining of the politics thread with no strong dissenting views should serve as an apt example of how might fare the rest of Off-Topic…
