Not necessarily: having him helping destroying the SKB, or even having him answer meaningful questions on his exile, would’ve been enough.

Well you’re entitled to your opinion and though I think Luke should have had dialogue I’m more than okay with having there be none which builds this momentous confrontation to even greater heights for VIII
