TFA Blu Ray Releases — Page 2

I too bought the steelbook. I don’t have a ton of movies on blu, just my faves, but I try and get the steelbook if at all possible. They look awesome lined up together.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

“Episode X” became part of the title since the prequel trilogy only. Even the 1997 SE was marketed as “Star Wars”, “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi”, as did every release before.

Oh yeah, about that Indy video cover. The title of this movie is actually just “Raiders of the Lost Ark”.

Try telling George that. 😉

It’s like Pitch Black released since 2004 as The Chronicles of Riddick: Pitch Black (though the third entry is only Riddick…). As for SW, they are now all marketed without the number, even the PT, which are largely known with their number : http://www.amazon.com/Star-Wars-Phantom-Limited-Blu-ray/dp/B013JAFTS0/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1460531820&sr=8-2

Another example: the first sequel of Die Hard is known as Die Hard 2: Die Harder (video release, soundtrack albums…), but “Die Harder” is the tagline put on posters, in the opening credit it is only displayed Die Hard 2.

But again, this is how they want to sale the movies, not their actual names. So, my question was and still is: where can we find the information of the real title of a movie ? Is it written someone in the end credits along with the exploitation visa ?

As for Die Harder, I think that started as a tag line and by popular demand morphed into a subtitle. Again, look at the poster fine print, and it’s just Die Hard 2

I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.

It still does not answer my question: these are posters, i.e. the way the movies are marketed.

They are posters, i.e. the way the movies are marketed.
The official name is Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Does this answer your question?

What the hell are those chapter numbers?

They include the Young Indy movies, which were cut together from the TV shows.

Don’t ask. It’s Lucas.

Sources ? It seems no one can provide me the right answer with facts, no just guess.

If this is anything to go off of, it seems Episode VII is in the official title.

Thanks ! US copyright office, I should have thought of this site !

Let’s petition Lucasfilm to add the proper full-stop to the crawl.

I’ll never call it “Episode VII” but it is apparently “officially” called that. I’m glad it isn’t on the box art so it doesn’t matter much to me what’s “official”.

The original copyright info for Star Wars does not include “Episode IV” or “A New Hope”. So the “official” original title for that is just Star Wars

Not so for TFA, whose official original title is Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens

According to the US copyright link posted above they do… and that’s official!

I think we can all agree that US copyright is a bunch of hooey.

Unofficially, of course.
