It wasnt that I minded so much the diversity, its that it was forced (contrived) to give this image of complexity that didnt need to be done. In the OT, we were introduced to Chewbacca. We didnt need anymore explanation of him for the story to move forward and develop. The Cantina scene was very diverse and it served the story very well. But in the PT, every scene, it seems to me, was hyperbole to keep up this narrative of “a complex, diverse and bustling galaxy” that GL had in his mind when he made the first movies. It was overkill to do it in every scene.
