Can we lay off the profanity laden images please?

Where were you in '77?

Did anyone notice that (SPOILER ALERT) when Vader’s mask is damaged in the fight at the end and you can see Anakin’s face that he still has his eyebrows?

Could this be a nod towards the original editions over the special editions?

Yes. I enjoyed it. Reading Filoni’s interview, it seems the ambiguity in the ending was to allow the characters to be used outside of Rebels…not to necessarily bring them back int the show.

In the IGN interview, it seemed like he still believes he can film the final Clone Wars store of Maul vs Rex/Ahsoka that he wrote the arc for.

Definitely didn’t see the eye gouging thing coming. I also didn’t anticipate that after Maul had betrayed them Ezra would still be on the path to the Dark Side.

Is that something that would have been completely new, or was it rooted in TCW? I can’t recall any special connection between Maul and either Rex or Ahsoka, but it has been a couple of years since I’ve seen the show.

Also, I think they’re handling Ezra’s potential slide to the dark side a lot more credibly than anything we ever saw about Anakin. Very interested to see where this goes.

Here is the quote from the IGN interview:

“It is the last story arc of the Clone Wars TV series that we were doing, was this story about Ahsoka and how she crosses with Maul. What was significant about that was that it was the story that was really going to draw her possibly back into the Jedi Order, because the motivation around this conflict with Maul was her knowing the personal history between Maul and Obi Wan, who was their dear friend. So she was caught up in that, and basically she says point, “The last time I saw Anakin, he was rushing off to save the Chancellor.” She was actually planning with Obi Wan and Anakin the capture and attack that would get them Maul, because she had figured out where he was towards the end of the Clone War. But before they can go through with this plan together, Obi Wan and at one Anakin get called away to Coruscant to save the Chancellor, which leaves her with Rex – and some other exciting characters – to basically go and deal with Darth Maul, once and for all. That’s kind of a good brief of what that was about.”

Anyone else catch the finale? They went significantly darker than I thought they’d be willing to.

I loved it, especially Vader. My only problem is the stupid Inquisitor-copter blades. I’m glad Maul took care of them.

I just finished the finale and holy crap.

If you’re not watching this show for whatever reason, you need to be because that episode makes whatever stupid lightspeed-jumping, gas-eating space whale episodes worth it. This is some good Star Wars right here. Wow.

The saber copters were dumb as hell but I don’t think we’ll see those for awhile now, especially after the malfunction.

Also, I’d like to call the upcoming “What could you hate enough to destroy me?” moment.

Keep Circulating the Tapes.

I didn’t mind the space whales. I kind of like the way they’re setting Ezra up to have beastmaster Force powers.

I do like that he’s going to a place we haven’t really seen the Force go before, I just thought the space whales were a bit much, especially with the lightspeed thing.

I just watched it.

Wow

So much that I wasn’t expecting, which makes watching this very enjoyable.

Wait, space whales? Like in that one Star Trek movie?

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

While that was a great line, I really hope that Vader and Maul never cross paths. It would be way too fan-servicey. I just want Maul to track down Obi-Wan or Sidious and promptly get his ass handed to him so we can be rid of him.

Disney is unable to produce anything which is not a blatant OT rip off. That being said, it’s possible to enjoy the show, and this brillant finale. Season 1 was ANH reboot, season 2 is ESB reboot. Not very convinced by the simili Zimmer ending music (not very Star Wars) but the emotion (Vader, Ahsoka, Maul) sealed this finale as the best this series has offered yet. As a bonus, Sarah Michelle Gellar’s Seventh Sister laugh is going to be historic.

By the way, those who are still believing that Disney will eventually declare the PT as non-canon and will hence produce new Ep I-II-III should really forget their hopes. PT and OT have never been so tied than they are under Disney’s rule. For the best I may add.

It doesn’t fit the timeline, but I’d love for Maul’s hatred of the Sith and his need for revenge lead him to the discovery that Vader has a son. He tracks him down to take him as an apprentice only to run into Obi Wan one final time. Intercut Kenobi dealing with the Hutts, Maul learning Vader=Skywalker and heading to the homestead to gain any knowledge he can about his enemies past. Maul stumbles upon seeing Kenobi arguing with Lars about being involved in Luke’s life, etc.

That could be the Obi-Wan spinoff.

I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who caught this but I love that little nod

"Anakin Skywalker was weak. I destroyed him.”- Darth Vader

“Your son is gone. He was weak and foolish like his father, so I destroyed him.”- Kylo Ren

Yes, and it is at Ren’s disadvantage over Vader. One character is a legend, the other one is a wanabee Vader whiny kid.

whine
[hwahyn, wahyn]
verb (used without object), whined, whining.

to utter a low, usually nasal, complaining cry or sound, as from uneasiness, discontent, peevishness, etc.:
The puppies were whining from hunger.

to snivel or complain in a peevish, self-pitying way:
He is always whining about his problems.

I don’t recall Ren whining all that much. Hacking things up when he doesn’t get his way? Yes. That’s a physical outburst, though, not a verbal one; you need actual dialogue to convey whininess.

Not saying I like the character, mind you, but still – he wasn’t whiny.

Luke whines an awful lot in SW though I might add.

I managed to watch the finale. Gotta say, it was actually pretty good. I particularly liked seeing those inquisitors

buy the farm; they were utterly lousy villains and I was happy to see each one of them die undignified deaths.
