Batman: The Movie (1966)
Batman (1989)
Batman Returns (1992)
Batman Begins (2005)
By far the best of the Nolan trilogy. The only film where Bale put in any effort. His performance just gets progressively worse from here.
The Dark Knight (2008)
Incredibly overrated. Ledger gives a stellar performance but the rest of the film just falls flat. Batman is barely even a character in the film.
The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
The fact that Nolan refused to fix Bane’s voice after everyone collectively said, “What did he say?!?” after the big IMAX scene teaser, tells you everything you need to know.

Honorable mentions:
Batman: The Animated Series (1992-1994)
Unquestionably the best adaptation of the Bat that has ever graced any screen. It’s hard to articulate how amazing this series was. The writing, the art design, and performances all are impeachable. Kevin Conroy gave the definitive performance of Batman/Bruce Wayne. Similarly, Mark Hamill has never been topped as the Joker. One of the best television series of all time.
Batman: Arkham (2009-2015)
This is basically the adult spiritual successor of TAS. A fantastic series of games with excellent story and gameplay that has had a major impact on the video game industry and will undoubtedly hold a lasting legacy in the years to come.
Batman (1966)
A tongue in cheek parody of the comics of the time that everyone took seriously. Delightfully fun series filled to the brim with cheeky humor.
Batman: The Brave and the Bold (2008-2011)
Like its '60s predecessor, Brave and the Bold embraced the more colorful side of the character. The series revels in the Batman mythos in its entirety. Taking inspiration from every comic era of the character and using them to tell exciting and a lot of times meta adventures with the “Dark Knight.” It was incredibly fun and surprisingly touching at times in its exploration of the character and his legacy. Not a series to be missed if you’re a fan of the character as a whole.
