I’ve been working on the Vader ‘NOOOOOO’ scene, what do you guys think?
Tbh the perfect way this was handled was by L8wtr. There are many aspects of his edit (mainly the ending) that I really enjoy, especially how he handles the noooo. You get the awesome shot of Vader rising up with powerful music then sidious asks him “can you hear me”, Vader answers “yes master” fade to black and we go to funeral continuing with memorable imagery accompanied by powerful music till end credits. I prefer Hal’s edit though all the way up until Anakin and obi wan start fighting. Then I switch to L8wtrs to include Yoda/Sidious fight which is trimmed up heavily to reduce silliness and preserve the epic vibe along with the improved ending. Ur take on how other editors like L8wtr have handled this scene?
I prefer seeing Vader’s reaction to Padme dying. One way I’ve seen it done is right when Palpatine smiles, it fades to the next scene, cutting out right before the ‘NOOOO’. This was just a test for me to see if I can make the ‘NOOOO’ tolerable.
