What are you doing in Raleigh?

My brother had a check up from his surgery last year... which happened before you joined OT.com...

Anyway, it got me out of school for two days, so I said what the heck...

I'm back now, though.

The one I used at the Verizon in Raliegh had a mini-IE. It loaded things in a very odd aspect ratio, but all the text was in the right place.

Touch screen. There was no stylus (and my DS was charging, so I didn't have it with me), but the buttons were barely large enough to type with. The simulated keyboard was aranged in the normal qwerty fashion.

Trippy. I actually use my PDA to take notes in class. It's a whole lot lighter than a laptop.

I was surprised that it could load actual web pages... I figured it could only run specialized pages.

Using a fold-out keyboard? I can't imagine trying to stylus tap it all in and still get it done.

Yeah, my keyboard has a passing resemblance to an old-school Mac keyboard. It's pretty cool.

What do you use as a word processor on your PDA and what kind of PDA do you have? I'm looking for a word processor for mine, but I only have 8 MB built in (I can get expansion memory if I think it will do me any good). But I also need to know what works with Palm Desktop.

Lemme hunt down some specs:

Sony's PEG TJ-27 with...

The PEGA KB100 keyboard.
I use Documents to Go, which converts back and forth between MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

So, in other words, you use Windows CE, right?

Nope; it's Palm-based, baby.

Hmmm... always thought Clies were CE. Guess this means I should be able to sync it with a Mac, eh? I'm using a Palm M500 right now. Love it with a passion. But it only has 8MB built in and is B/W screen.

You should, but the software Sony bundled with it is PC only, which kinda sucks.

I know I can DL Palm Desktop for Mac for free from the Palm site. Just a question of hardware compatibility.

Well, since it's a USB sync cable, it should probably work, but you wouldn't be able to use all the nifty features bundled with the Sony software, like Data Import (allows you to access data on the Memory Stick from your computer, so you can download pictures from the digital camera).

Might be able to. My other Memory Stick hardware works fine (digicam). The Mac has no problem whatsoever recognizing the Memory Stick for just what it is without any software installation. I just plug the camera directly in to my USB port and whammo! There is the Memory Stick icon on the desktop. But it may not be much of a concern since I've got a PC at work, too. Can hook up the PDA to the PC at work. I was just wondering if I'd be able to sync from home as well.

Like I said, I'm not sure, simply because of the way Sony has it set up.
