Could we zoom in to avoid that stuff, or would it cut off character body parts?

Shouldn’t, those are actually frame guides so you’d want to crop that anyway. Only issue with it is slight loss of quality.

Hopefully not one of those crappy eco cases. Bad enough the Halloween movie set came in those. Replacement cases are tough to find in anything other than blue.

I believe the most recent repackaging of the 2011 blu-rays did away with the episode numbers on the packaging/disc labels as well. They seem to be making a conscious effort to move away from that.

Yeah you’re right, the numbers have been erased on all episodes (but they still appear on the opening crawl). Strange move… but I can understand why: it will make the marketing campaign for the spin off movies a lot more easier.

Episode numbers never appeared on posters or video covers until the prequels.

How so? I’d think if anything it would complicate differentiating them slightly. Though I fully support the numerals’ removal from the marketing.

I guess it would make things easier in that they don’t have to explain we’re going to see spinoff 1, then ep.VIII, then spinoff 2, then ep.IX, then spinoff 3,… and so on 😄
It may make things confusing to newcomers who don’t know what’s the chronological order, though.

for 1982 the best films remembered are blade runner and the thing.not ghandi or e.t.1982 was probably the most competitive year for movies ever.with conan the barbarian, tron and star trek the wrath of khan also from 82.

Next time quote it, especially if you’re gonna dig up old-ass posts, so there’s some context.

Not that you deserve a reply, but ET is definitely the most remembered film of 1982.

My favorite bit was when claimed The Thing is better remembered than E.T.

they are making a sequel to blade runner, and harrison ford is starring in it too.i think that shows blade runner is remembered more than e.t. i dont see them making a sequel to e.t. and they made a prequel to the thing.

I picked that up on blu ray last week, it was a $9.99 deal. Hadn’t seen it since I was a child. Literally bawled.

Spielberg could also tell Lucasfilm something about preservation. The blu ray is a beautiful presentation of the theatrical version.
