If you were interested in the clip I posted on page 1 I now put it to final footage order…(Or best guess final)

I was chopping at that tree and then it fell…

That there’s no Grand Moff to be seen anywhere. Star Wars (1977) established that the Grand Moffs have “direct control of their territories.”

In all fairness we don’t actually ever see any Empire controlled systems in the film. Hoth and Dagobah which are assumed to be uninhabited and Bespin which is small enough to not be noticed by the Empire.

Yeah, “Moff” basically means “Governor”, I think. The Grand Moffs are kind of like the Nazi Gauleiters (regional governors) who headed the various provinces of Germany under Hitler’s rule.

IRL the title “Grand Moff” derives from “Grand Mufti” and was originally applied to Tarkin back when he was some sort of priest-like figure (a Friar Tuck?) who sat on the high command of the Alliance in the 1975 SW drafts.

Either way, the job of a Grand Moff/governor is likely unrelated to the military duties of a Grand Admiral – though that doesn’t explain how Tarkin gets to command the Death Star. Possibly it’s because of his personal pull with Palpatine (a factor that also counted for much among the higher echelons of Hitler’s regime).

“That Darth Vader, man. Sure does love eating Jedi.”

I always felt Vader rose up the ranks after Tarkin’s demise and was a moff or perhaps even more so but retained his Lord title.

Anyway today his quite a happy day now beacuse I have been working away on the battle with the storm troopers and I moved to the next phase of adding the music. This changed things quite a bit but…

I think I finally have the Battle nailed or as close as damn it which has been a thorn in me for (I said 2 years) but it’s actually 3 years now looking back. At the very least I had try to figure this out at least 4 - 6 times in a year. I think I can finally put it to bed now thank god.

I have taken everything in to account and I believe this to now be as accurate as I can make the battle part to the first cut before changes were made.

I am now drinking wine soon to have a roast dinner… I feel like it’s now all in the right place, I knew it was not quite right before but now I think it really is there.

I have done my best…The music cues are more or less the same but the footage order is different but I think actually the music now matches the scenes better in a few instances.

Missing scene card 1 is actually quite a bit longer it encompasses the scene I cut of the storm troopers shooting but they are shooting at the people who live on cloud city running away and the people of cloud city and Chewie Lando and Leia shoot back at them (apparently according to the script)

Missing scene card 2 Applies to the sound effects heard of the Lasers when there are no Lasers on the screen, and I believe this shot exists that was mixed by ben burt but the footage was swapped for some reason. Anyway I think it is either R2-D2 coming back through the door or it is Chewie leaving the wall or both. Pew Pew… Pew the Lasers go, you know what I mean.

The shots of R2-D2 smoking and away from the port somehow need to be fixed so he is actually plugged in to the wall and speaking / replying to 3PO

I have honestly tried to take everything in to account and I can now feel I can put this finally to bed. Enjoy!

Edit:

Just for reference I am going to expand a bit more upon the sequence.

The Millennium Falcon was intended to be both behind the door R2-D2 electrocutes himself trying to open and then when they run further on the door that is located some distance away. So It is in essence a paradox.

The only way I can think of to possibly have this make sense is include the Lobot deleted scene and try to show that they were going to try and escape on another ship perhaps Lando’s ship. Then they decide to go to platform 327.
