There’s more to entertainment than just action and visually exciting things happening on screen. Not saying that’s the reason you weren’t entertained by them, but its a valid point. I’m sorry you weren’t too entertained by them, but we’re talking about telling stories here. The whole point was to illustrate that it is possible to tell a compelling story in a short amount of time.
Imagine something with the sense of action that this Darth Maul fan film had, but with an interesting story attached. I’d rather have a shorter action sequence amidst a compelling story, than a very large action sequence bookended by these framing devices that could have been developed into something more interesting.
