If Harmy’s getting you the files relatively quickly, I’ll hold off until the next version comes out. Shouldn’t be a big deal to swap out the source file in premiere and re-render.

Just throwing this out there, but I like the SSE explosions 😃
Yeah, I know I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but if there’s any way you could make them look a little less desaturated I think that would be a nice improvement. 😃
I think 2.6 looks fine and if Harmy hadn’t mentioned it I would not have known that shot
was a error! LOL I’ve already muxed in 30 Subs but won’t burn image to media as long as you
folks are still working to improve things! I still have ROTJ 2.5 I just DL’d, seems not much
color tweaking needed with that one.
I thought I recognized your foul stench when I entered this forum!
This may or may not have been brought up when 2.0 was in the making; During the trench runs, like 01:50:56 and onwards, there are some green patches on the walls. Was this caused by technicolor? Don’t have access to any other reference at the moment.

Not sure but it’s definitely beyond my ability to change it. I actually did a version with greyer trenches made from the BD, but it clashed with the cockpit shots and despecialized ones, and those ones I couldnt change. So, definitely leaving it alone.

Ok, will keep looking for other anomlaties!

Is that Tusken Raider at 28:42 supposed to be animated backwards and forwards like that?
EDIT: Oh yes he is, I’ve checked the SSE. Never mind.
Wait, are you talking about the part where he’s screaming at Luke while holding his stick over his head?
How many times have you seen Star Wars?
Towne, when you were talking about the 1997 files did you mean to say you’re creating an update to the Respecialized '97 Edition based on your 2.6/7 Edition? I usually lurk these threads a couple of times a day to stay abreast of things but I haven’t checked them since I went out of town this weekend.

No such plans. But the current release has no black bars I think and must be reencoded to burn to BD.
I see. For the BD encode do you have access to Harmy’s lossless 1997 files?

Right. That was the reason I offered. Anyone can re encode the release but this might be more ideal. Though I imagine there isn’t much demand.
Oh there’s definitely demand from this guy. Although I have come to love the OUT since joining this site coming on two years ago, I grew up with the 2000 VHS set in my household so I still value having an HD version of the 1997 version on my computer. I may not love the reversioned 1997 SE anymore thankfully, but I love what Respecialized did for it and I also love Adywan’s ESB 1997 version too. It’s in the same spirit as Despecialized and all the other projects here, although not done with the same love perhaps 😃

About a hundred times! It’s just something I never noticed until now.
Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

I’ve got some bad news for you about Escape from Planet of the Apes.

Man I learned this the hard way with a different film last night!! The resolution has to be in standard HD resolutions or the Playstation 3 won’t play the video portion of the film, just the audio. 1920x1080 or 1280x720!
Is there any progress on V2.7?
Is there any progress on V2.7?
Here’s the deal:
I’ve got the latest test render done. I’ll give it a spot check tonight and then start uploading it somewhere. Also, I’m thinking about maybe 2.61 or 2.65 instead of 2.7? Should be Harmy’s call, though.
I would like to have people who have been following the thread give it a check for some final feedback. The previous (2.5, still) release had a good amount of error checking on the final render from other eyes, which 2.6 could have probably used more of. So, I want to make sure it’s right this time because I don’t want to do it again! 😃
While I’ll welcome any and all feedback, I’ll specifically be looking for anything involving actual errors. Encoding problems, something where it seems like a setting gets switched off, etc. I’ll be going through, in the meantime, checking every cut to make sure it’s a real shot junction in the film (and colors aren’t changing mid-shot). That’s another thing to keep an eye on, but I do those passes regularly so there isn’t much worry. Still, there are hundreds of splices.
So if anyone is willing to look at the preview, please leave a post and let me know. I’ll start a group PM with the link and we can discuss what we see there. As I said, all feedback is welcome, but if it ends up being bogged down with minor ‘color wishlists’, I might try to steer it towards actual issues/errors. If there’s something you feel very strongly about, color wise, that hasn’t been said, it’s fine but no promises. Mostly, mention anything that I might have made worse than 2.6. 😃
If there are a lot of changes we come up with, I can do another test render. Otherwise, I’ll encode the final render once I have Harmy’s files, mux it, etc. I’ll let it sit with you guys until enough people have watched it that we think it’s in good enough shape to upload.
Thanks guys.
I’d be willing to take a look towne32.
I’ll look at it

You can call it v2.65 or v2.7, I don’t really mind either way. You’re right that v2.65 is probably more accurate to what kind of update it is.
I’m uploading the lossless master for v2.5 now.
Thanks very much, Harmy!
Hello there,
I want to watch the Despecialized Movies on my TV with my BluRay Player.
How can I burn the MKV on a playable BluRay Disc? Wihich programs should I use?

Well, in general you can convert these MKVs that contain 264 video streams for blu-ray using TSMuxer. In this case (Despecialized 2.6), there is a BD format release that’s ready to burn. But I would recommend waiting until the next update before burning.
Thank you very much. But I where can I find the 2.6 Version, please?
Do you have all 3 classic version as a bluRay file for me?
This is great. Are we seeing the first Despecialized version not to be released by Harmy? This colour-correction is a result of the spirit of collaboration within the preservation community. Thanks to Harmy and towne32 for this upcoming release.
