I don’t really mind the SE material, I even think the opening to be more enjoyable that way, so I hope you’ll keep much of it, Sarlacc included.
What points do you have in mind of the intro aside from the Sarlacc?
Personally, I find any version with the CG Sarlacc unwatchable (though I’ll check out an edit with it for the purpose of giving feedback). It looks like a Playstation 1 or Dreamcast cutscene. I’m not even opposed to the idea of the change itself (for a SE), since it really was intended originally and simplified due to costs. It just looks weird and plasticky. It was one of my least favorite parts in 1997, when the idea of the SE as a sort of optional director’s cut was still kind of fun.
But most people seem to be okay with it for a semi-specialized edition, so I can’t blame anyone for using it. 😃
