I’ve been saying this for a while but I’m glad someone else has said it. Unfortunately a decent percentage of people who dislike Kylo Ren would never admit such a thing.

As it pertains to the character/villain himself Kylo Ren is definitely one of my favorite characters in the Star Wars Universe. Shocking, I know but he is certainly the most layered villain we have seen thus far in the films. Vader was a bad person who had the capacity for good (which was brought out by his interactions with Luke). Kylo Ren on the other hand is a good person who is willing himself to be evil. That makes his inner conflict the more believable of the two in my opinion. I don’t think he’ll be turning back to the light (at least not in this trilogy) because I think he had his arc in TFA and he chose to delve into the path of darkness whereas Vader chose to embrace the good in him. That in conjunction with his growing lunacy is going to turn him into a monster when he completes his training under the Supreme Leader.
