It was a pretty cool movie.

I think the biggest annoyance was how everyone could see Starkiller Base blow up Hosnian Prime (I didn’t think it was Coruscant, but they could have made it more clear) from ostensibly lightyears away. I can forgive sound in space and whatnot, but damn that one was bad.

Beyond that, the plot was definitely something we’d seen before several times at this point, but that was made less annoying by having new characters to invest ourselves in and enjoy. It was definitely a “safe choice” they made so they could reintroduce us to the universe. I feel like a lot of complaints about this thing or that thing not being explicitly explained will be absolved in the coming films.

I actually really liked Kylo Ren. I think people just wanted a Darth Vader copy (which you know people would have complained about) and what they got was an unstable wannabe, which is the point of the character.
