Towne…

Burned 2.6 to blu ray when I got home from work. I put it in the PS3 intending to do a spot check it on my 50 inch plasma, but as soon as I saw the colors on the Tantive I was enthralled and before I knew it the end credits were rolling!

GREAT JOB recoloring this!!! This is the Star Wars I remember but at an insanely higher quality than I’ve ever seen it… and I’m not sure why but it’s 100 times better than your first version. So awesome!

Alright so I finally finished downloading. With MakeMKV you can choose two titles to mux from the ISO to MKV. The first one has the New Hope title, second one doesn’t.

This really looks great - So happy to have this version now!

Just a quick question - I burned it and popped it in my player but there doesn’t seem to be any chapters on the disc. Any plans to add chapters later? Couldn’t figure out how to do it myself 😛

You should be able to mux the lossless audio from Harmy’s into this. That’s what I intend to do.

Yeah I could do that but wouldn’t the lossless tracks muxed to the BD video-stream result in a mkv to big to fit on a bd25?

Maybe. If you don’t want them all you may be able to squeeze just one or two on there or maybe all of them. I only muxed in the stereo track (I’m not set up for 5.1 currently) and I was under 25 GB. But I don’t bother burning things anyway, I’ve gone full file/streaming.

I didn’t include them. Didn’t think anyone actually used those anymore. 😃

I’d like to have the 3 theatrical tracks + 1985 mix, so it might become a little cramped.
I’m always running out of space so I want to put in on a disc.

Hoping the forum can help me on this. I’m using Toast on a Mac to burn Towne32’s recoloring of Despecialized Star Wars (2.6). I downloaded the BDMV. When authoring using toast, it presents the video as THREE files:

  1. 1981 ANH crawl
  2. 1977 SW crawl
  3. the remainder of the movie

What I’d like to do is either create an autoplay of 1977 using Toast. Do I just delete the 1981 clip and select “play all items continuously” to do this? I can try it, but I don’t want to waste a blank disc if it fails.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I’ve never used Toast, but I think you might want to delete the ANH playlist and not just the m2ts file. But I really have no idea.

If you wait until later today, I’ll be uploading an MKV of each of the separate crawls. They’ll have the lossless audio files from 2.5, as well as various new or updated non-english dubs that Catbus has provided me. The MKV can be converted to blu-ray with tsmuxer (if you omit a few audio tracks to get to fit on a single layer disc).

Thanks Towne. Think I’ll see if anyone else chimes in before resorting to the MKV. I’m not too experienced with TSMuxer either. Plus, I’d like to keep all the audio if possible.

Thanks!
Ron

Well, the BD release has limited audio tracks. So the MKV, with a couple removed for languages you don’t speak, will still have 2-3x more tracks.

towne32, when you have the time, please convert this to mkv.

Two MKVs and one AVCHD should be up tonight.

(I don’t really have plans for an ANH AVCHD, since I think demand for it would be minimal).

Haha! I browsed through “teh place” for like 30min to find this but now I realized that it’s probably only on MySpleen at the moment?

Can’t wait for the MKV with lossless audio. 😃

Yeah. Someone else can ‘teh’ it if they want. But they should probably wait for the mkv, since that’s probably more what people are used to there.

Alright, this stuff is uploaded. Thanks again for the support. Enjoy!

Thanks to Catbus and all others involved with the audio mixes, for supplying the most up to date dub tracks. And of course for Project Threepio. MKV format releases have a fixed Castilian audio track as well as Russian, Ukranian, Thai, and Navajo dubs (in addition to the tracks in 2.5)

This isn’t an urgent concern at all, but I was wondering: since this is now the official 2.6 release, is there an SD DVD-5 on the way? I’m set with the high def version, but I’ve got a handful friends without blu-ray players who love the shit out of Despecialized. Would be nice to share the update with them.
