There’s so many great ideas in this thread, very much in line with some thoughts I’ve had for years of a fan-based, open-source restoration community. I admit to being quite concerned about the legal implications of sharing copyrighted images/sequences, so some sort of air-gap to somewhat insulate contributors from liability and to keep movies away from pirates would be beneficial overall.

I’m not sure how exactly that could be implemented, but DaVinci Resolve has a “remote user” feature that could be explored. I believe this leaves images and project data on a remote server, while the user, in another location, can see and edit with them, without physically copying the image data to the user’s own hard drives.
