PT would be far better off without any romance.
There would have to be at least implied romance. Luke and Leia have to be born somehow.
Not every dot had to be connected, which Lucas completely failed to understand.
When it comes to shit like how C3P0 came into being sure I see something like how Luke and Leia being born as something that needs to be connected. Perhaps not in the way that it was done in the PT but to completely omit their existence would have been strange.
