It is worse. The Holiday Special didn't divide fandom into countless "true fan" arguments. The Holiday Special didn't supplant an entire vision of the films. One can forget the Special ever existed. Lucas and numerous fans never let one forget about the OT. The Holiday Special may have been bad, but at least it didn't mess with the films themselves. Even the PT has a more general opinion of them. I'm just sick of "OT vs SE Wars".
