I found out that the HDTV version I got has a slightly different color grading than BD, so I regraded the BD to match it; I’d like to know what do you think:

which one is more right - or less wrong?

Please do not reveal which is the BD and which is the regraded, as I’d like to receive unbiased answers.

Thanks!

Sadly not... wait, is THERE a WOWOW version?!? Do you know anything more about this?

By the way, what do you think about the comparison?

Thanks!

Yes I had it and for some reason got rid when the blu came out.

I am not sure, do a shot with a yellow interceptor in it.

I'm sure mine is not WOWOW; it's MPEG4, low bitrate, no WOWOW logo...

It's about I don't remember where, I remember pre blu being blown away by it.

To me, BD1 looks prettier, less pink. But BD2, being a little darker, is more in the mood of the movie, I'd say.

I thought the BD looked fine.

Mad Max 2, however... >:( I refuse to buy it if they refuse to fix it! Yuck. I will stick with my old flipper disc, thankyouverymuch.

BD1 definitely looks better, and has the look I remember the first film having (I was always surprised when I first saw it how bright the cinematography is). Second is too much dark and too pink.

“Ow! It`s hot in here, the butter in my pocket is melting!”

The correct color grading for MM1 is the one from the DVD, just like MM2.

However the difference is not as drastic. You can restore the real colors of MM1 basically by making adjustments on your TV for a brighter and more contrasted image, with better color saturation.

Which is the better of the two available Blu Rays for Mad Max 1?

CED & VHD can be useful for alternative audio.
But I don’t know is this one have Australian dialogue.

The guy over youtube say about CED:
The audio quality is phenomenal just like listening to a record.

MM1 BluRay, the colors are too cold, that is not Australia, it’s only modern look.

My ratings:
MM1 - Masterpiece
MM2 3/5 - Characters are excellent but I don’t like story.
MM3 2/5 - Uff
New MM 1/5 - They can add any kind of CGI, stuntmens can makes miracles but story is awful. TRASH

Maybe to add grain to HDTV or regrade BD: HDTV, check LD, 2 images what I upped above and if is possible to find 35/16/8mm film cells.
HDTVRip: 1920x816p, x264 (r1092), 23.976 fps, ~10945 Kbps, High@L4.1 - 7.95 GB
