My new covers

Will look like this:

Yes, I've decided to go back to this design and complete it. You can expect the completed covers within the next week or two. Oh, and I'm fully aware the Yoda pic is from Empire. I might add that it is a deliberate move to not have "Star Wars" present as part of the logos on the other two covers.

Those are cool, but the pattern dictates that the first one should be called "A New Hope" if your only going to use the sub-titles of the second two.

Not necessarily; that's the way I did my set, though now I am using my own copy of the Mysterious Mysteries Edition (i.e. just the movie with the original crawl and 85 soundtrack), and having it A NEW HOPE would be incorrect.

And if I can get anywhere toward an "XP80" ESB and "XP83" ROTJ, to go with the XP77 project I'm working on now, they would prolly need the Star Wars logo on the sequels to look right. The XP77 is a Pre-ANH.

No it doesn't. Star Wars was originally released without "A New Hope" in the opening crawl, and it was released as "Star Wars" right up to 1995, even with the second crawl. And I don't want to make it unsuitible for use with PRE-ANH discs either (in which case this cover would be excellent for them, far better than the cases that have "Pre-ANH" written all over them!)

Well, anyway, aesthetically I must say I quite like your choice of art for Star Wars - very unusual and unique. Empire is okay, and I don't like your Jedi choice at all, but to each his own - the SW one kicks ass though!

I like the Star Wars one the best, good job.

It was some of the original artwork.

It's interesting, in the poster on this page C3P0 and R2D2 were added to that peice of art-work. I'll have to see if I can find it in higher resolution.

Wow, this made me think of how Criterion Collection should have done the trilogy. Probably would have been better than what we got from Lucas. I like your covers, except for ROTJ, it just doesn't seem to fit with the feel of the others. ESB is awesome though.

I like them, except for ROTJ. That image of Yoda alone seems kinda like a magazine cover to me... besides, that's from ESB!
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering
