I absolutely did, and they are incredible. He’s been very patient and longsuffering with working out some kinks for the Ep2 upscales. (Episode 3’s look the best of all!)

This is teasing at its best 😃 The blu ray of Episode III is stunning, I’m really curious about a better looking picture. You’ll still use a “grain veil” on those ?

This is for the deleted scenes, where we only have rather poor quality SD video to work with. But Dre has a great algorithm for upscaling.

He’s using Schorman’s HDTV preservation, so adding grain really shouldn’t be needed (nor would it for the BD, I think). It’s just TPM that had the wax figure level of scrub done.

Towne32 is right. The upscaling is just for the deleted scenes. They will never look as good as the rest of the film no matter what we could possibly do, but they blend in better than the flat upscale I had used before.
And I’m probably going to use the BluRay for Episode III, since to my eyes it looks pretty good and won’t have any encoding mistakes that I might not spot from schorman’s V1. Episode II on the other hand looks waaaaay better than the BluRay, so I’ll use schorman no matter what mistakes might be there. Episode I was the BluRay color corrected similarly to KK650 (though not as far), and with added grain to counter the overuse of DVNR.

By the way: Did you use shot-by-shot corrections for TPM, or is there any chance you’ve got decent correction settings that can be applied to the majority of the film?

I took the DVD case art and resized it to fit a bluray (also swapped the DVD logo out and added a bluray logo).

Sorry for the rush job on this. Please let me know if anybody does a better one later.

These are great, but I have one minor niggle: for episode 1 the top of the droid just clips the text at the top which in my opinion (as well as in the other two cases) do not touch?

What’s wrong with it touching the text?

I noticed what seems like a weird audio glitch. Can anyone confirm that the dialogue only seems to come from the Right side during the reinserted ‘dawn before the race’ scene?

JEDIT: It appears it’s just happening in the 720p version, most likely as a result of transcoding it to AAC.

I confirm there is nothing wrong on the 1080p version.

I downloaded the 720 version awhile ago but haven’t checked it out until now. I can confirm that the dialogue only comes from the right side during that scene.

However… it’s actually that way throughout the entire film, not just the one scene.

I’ll be sure to transcode using other means for 2 and 3, then. Thanks for your help.
I will probably need to fix the 720p encode of Ep1 and reupload, but I’ll worry about getting 2 and 3 out first.

Welp, watched CoD and all I can say is: wow. You’ve provided a fluidness and energy to the story while maintaining that classic Star Wars feel, as well as ensuring the more comic relief moments/characters are cunningly spaced, rather than unprofessionally completely removed. I felt the same rush of joy and wonder as the first time viewing, as well as admiration for the new craftsmanship. Well done, very well done indeed!

This is a long shot but… might there be a chance of making English .srt subtitles for these prequel edits? I know we can live without them but… it’s always nice to have the subtitles on-screen so I don’t miss any of the dialogue (English is not my first language). Maybe this doesn’t apply to Star Wars since most of us know the movies by heart already. 😃

I’ve made french subtitles for CLOAK OF DECEPTION, and I’m currently working on LABYRINTH OF EVIL, which is a little bit harder to do (4 deleted scenes which are highly talkative). I plan to do the same for APPROACHING STORM. It’s in french but it’s easy to use the srt file template to produce english subtitles. Note that I’m not going to produce the english version (I would however like to have them).
