Someone certainly could try to cut it together in the same manner. But most people who are willing to do that much work want to make their own cuts too.

I'm just stupid enough to trying recreating these with the source elements that are now available. Maybe even go a bit further. Don't tell my wife though. We'll see.
I still very much enjoy them, but yeah, they're great for iPad viewing... not so much for modern TVs.

Hi there Slumberland :-) This edit was one of the earliest prequel edits I watched, and I thought it was really well done.
Thanks! I do like to think that, at the very least, I showed that you can get those two-headed announcers out of the picture, and end TPM before the parade. The prequels almost work if you can get the characters to stop talking!

I am so ready to do these in HD and BETTER but I’m super into reincorporating some of the deleted scenes that aren’t on the blu-rays and finding the best possible version of these for upscaling (namely PAL versions of the bonus materials) is a real stumbling block for me.

Hopefully in just a couple of weeks I can put out what I used for my edits (Episodes I and III upscaled by DrDre, II by me using similar methods).

No, just the NTSC DVDs that I have. Hadn’t even considered using the PAL.

I think I’ve managed to snag a Region 2 copy of TPM… we’ll see if those extra 94 lines of vertical rez mean anything.
Are the 2.0 sound that goes with these edits Pro-Logic compatible or are they simple downmixes? If they are DPLII I would be willing to sync HD sources with the original audio file, since audio work (to me anyway) is a billion times more frustrating than video.
