ENTIRELY OFF TOPIC:

Hey gang,

I know that this is OT and all, but hey...I'm a fan of a lot of the Star Wars mythology and I don't ever want it to wither up and blow away. Methinks that Lucas sees a lot of himself in Kevin Smith. Both indie filmmakers, both going 'out on a limb' at times...and the fact that Kevin is probably as much of a fan of Star Wars as any of us. Anyways, that being said...I'd love to see Smith pick up the gauntlet so to speak. Think about it, a fan of our ilk essentially becoming the creative power behind the expansion of the Star Wars story. Imagine the possibilites. One can only hope...

Kevin Smith being coy about future Star Wars stuff...

Kevin Smith dropping a BIG hint...

Anyways, I know that this has no place in this thread other than the fact that its all Star Wars and its all good. I'm now leeching the ADigitalMan Pre-ANH, and from what I've read about it...I'm very excited to watch it. Mmmm, hot popcorn with butter, a warm blanket, and Star Wars...what could be better? Thanks for everything gang.

p.s. Say, would you like a chocolate covered pretzel?

Wipe them out...all of them.

Hi guys,
I've downloaded the torrent that Rikter kindly put up, and am planning on posting it in a.b.starwars, most likely starting this evening, since downloading it, after about a day, I decided to change my Bittorrent client, and now cannot seem to get it to seed @ myspleen.com

I will try again when I get in from work tonight, but like I said the release is rar'ed and ready for alt.binaries.starwars...

Are there really Empire and Jedi discs for this set too?

What could have possibly been changed between the theatrical run and home video enough to tamper with the sequels as well?

My stance on revising fan edits.

I just watched it on another TV/DVD player, and I noticed the quality was significantly lessened - on this other setup the dot crawl is awful, but on my 20" Toshiba flatscreen TV and Toshiba DVD player going through a component output there was none. The other is an older RCA 48"(?) projection TV with an RCA DVD player going through an S-Video cable. I have to say, it looks bad with the dot crawl, but with a better setup and no dot crawl it looks amazing.

read back in the thread. The movies themselves haven't been changed, but the creators of this set explain what they did as far as isolated score for those two movies.

Rikter,
I was just checking on how the upload to the newsgroups was going, and stumbled accross a reply to the post, from 'the creator' with this comment...

The NFO says the source is the "Faces" LD set. In fact, the source was
the Definitive Collection.

Thanks,
the Creator

you should modify the NFO to reflect these changes, if you PM me with the new one, I'll make sure it gets upped as a 'REVISED' edition ASAP.

Thanks

I updated the NFO - PLEASE download the updated NFO and the missing JACKET_P Folder RIGHT-CLICK-SAVE-AS so you have the corrected information!!

I'm sorry for any mistakes made; But I can only work with the information I gather from the forums and contributors to my torrents.

Again I'm sorry for the redo!

I implore all the creators of set's that I torrent to please forward any information on your set[s] to me if you would be ever so kind as I would like to post the information via the NFO as accurately as possible.

I assure that you, the creator[s] that I will keep your anonymity secure.

Thanks Rikter,

While reading the NFO I stumbled accross this :

The video transfer in this collection is from the 1995 "Faces" THX Laserdiscs
and features a fan-created rendition of the "original title crawl".....

if you think that this doesnt need a change, I'll then go ahead and upload the new 'UPDATED' NFO and RAR (Jacket) to the newsgroups.

Thanks

Has anyone noticed that on some players when you play the movie, a large ANGLE 1/2 shows up on the screen and doesn't go away till after the angle-switch option is gone? It's really annoying, but only does it on some players.

It does it on mine as well, it is annoying.

My Memorex allows me to enable and disable that "feature" in the player setup menu...

The player that does that over here has no such option...it just does it...but not on the official DVD's with nine different language angles...

I dont get that on my Philips or the Panasonic. Weird

Well, it doesn't happen on my Toshiba either, and I'll tell you this, the picture looks goddamn amazing on my Toshiba set, while the dot crawl is horrible on my RCA setup (I noticed I said Sony earlier - I'll correct that).

I played it a few nights ago on my 'theater wannabe setup'

Panasonic AE-500 Projector, on a 118"x80" (approx) screen, and it's no short of amazing, the only issue which I faced was that the DVD is 4:3 and on a screen this size it really doesnt go well, but I managed to use the Projector Zoom function which worked wonders, and spread the image against the whole screen. The DVD player used was a Philips DV642.

I simply cannot wait to see the other ones.

I have a Pioneer player and the official versions of star wars that I borrowed caused this angle icon to flash up. I just disabled angle swapping in the players setups and it went away.

I have a Tosh 40" RP tv and this version looks pretty damned good. The whites look a little overblown at times and dot crawl is noticable at times but that is probably due to my TV more than anything else as it doesn't give the best picture it's capable of in zoom mode. Here's hoping for the big LCD displays to come down in price soon.

I've noticed that this has not been addressed:

Since this is from the DE, does Empire have the Leia welding segment or not?
