Well, I know someone on the site had an article on a guy prosecuted for distributing and making money off selling Song of the South. Also, even the LD's still have copyright laws I am sure, and since GL owns Star Wars, I guess any form of it is his to sue you over, kind of like GL sueing the US government over the Star Wars defense system, even though he lost because it was the government.
