I think I’ve got a DVD-5 folder of the dr. gonzo transfer that has it. I can throw that on my google drive if anyone needs it, but I’m sure someone else could do the actual editing much faster than me.

Wait, so this is actually going to be ROTJ 2.5? Wasn’t it supposed to be 2.0?

Harmy ended up doing a bunch more upgrades than he was originally planning for 2.0, so he’s calling it 2.5 and the final non-1080p version.

Sounds great! I must have missed that in the thread.

Empire is getting the 2.5 bump as well, and they’ll all be on common numbering (unless SW gets a quick 2.6 edit, to match the quality of the other two).

Can’t wait! I’m planning on showing Return of the Jedi to my Star Wars college class in a few weeks, and I’m hoping to use this new version.

If only Harmy could send you the lossless files so you could erase them. Every time you watch that scene, you could feel a burst of pride in having fixed the most important moment in the trilogy. 😉

Edit: Nevermind. That Harmy is a crowd pleaser. 😃 I remember thinking a lot of the little things people were nitpicking about in the 2.0 WP were just annoying Harmy and he was only worrying about the major ones. Then I saw the 2.5 WP and thought ‘holy crap, he paid attention to like all of it.’

The suspense is killing me too! Am I still there at the end shouting “Wesa free”?

I’m the professor. 😉 I teach in English. It’s a class on Star Wars and medieval/Renaissance literature, history, and religion. Jabba’s resemblance to an Ottoman sultan, stuff like that.

Where do you work and how do I enroll? Fotget my current university, startup company, and general future; that’s where I need to be.

I’ve been obsessed with this change for nearly 20 years. When I first saw the Special Edition of Jedi I couldn’t wait to see this moment on the big screen. Imagine my dismay when I saw that the scene had been ruined and the vanishing TIE fighters “fixed”! I stood up in the middle of the theatre and screamed, “that’s bullshit!” and I threw my popcorn on the floor, and walked out; I even made sure to throw my soda at the screen before storming out of the theatre. I also demanded my money back at the front box office. They just ignored me though and told my mother that she needed to control her young.

It sounds like the movie really freaked your mind.

At least you walked out only after the Slave Leia scene. 😛

I was genuinely confused for a second. Sometimes I forget what my username represents haha.

As for ROTS, all the Paradise Lost allegories in the world couldn’t save that pile 😉
