General Star Wars Random Thoughts Thread — Page 221

It was always clear to me he was pulling a clever ruse on the troopers. They would have likely shot anything not in uniform that moved when they got the door open. Luke and the gang were already pinned down in the detention block, so even if Threepio is capable of outright lying, making up some other place the intruders could be might arouse suspicion.

“It’s locked, move on to the next one.”

That line always makes me laugh.

I always interpreted the scene in Mos Eisley as the troops going door to door in order to ask if anyone had seen Obi Wan or the droids or whoever they were looking for. I guess they really had no reason to think anything was in that room specifically.

And why can’t the troops just break down the door and search everywhere? They’re the freaking Empire! They’ve already slaughtered Jawas, and Luke’s family in pursuit of the droids, but one locked door and they just move on to the next one?

Lazy stormtroopers, were Lazy.

Stormtroopers are clones of vampires. This is why they wear those helmets (to keep direct sunlight off) and they can only enter a house if they have been invited. Them bodies at the Lars farm were stormtroopers who were stripped naked at gunpoint by Owen.
He and Beru are still alive.

Hmm…you need to find some places–lots of places–for that line in your edits. I can’t remember if there are many times stormtroopers go up to closed doors in the OT, though.

Reverse vampires are the only vampires allowed in this thread.

Where did Owen find a wooden stake on Tatooine?

This would be hilarious. Incredulous at that scene, I was.

With some dubbing it could also just be a theme used by other characters in other situations. there might be non-stormtrooper scenes involving door approaches etc.

Oh God, I just got given a copy of Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know - on page 111 a box on the top left makes it quite clear that Greedo shot first! RGH! Definitely forcing the Special Editions down our throats! Saying that though: the back page establishes that the book draws upon the de-canonised Legends universe - stories beyond the original six films and the TV shows. Maybe that means the SE is Legends too…?

Interestingly, the Death Star explosion on page 187 has colour to it; looks like it might be from the 97SE as opposed to the current version.

Ol’ George has the GOUT, I see.

I hope the pages aren’t of that glossy paper stock. That stuff makes for horrible toilet paper.

I can imagine an awful lot … but I’m having trouble imagining her in the role.

The Beach Movie parody she did on Saturday Night Live at the time proves she probably could have pulled it off.

And Frink has got to find a way to use that in his next edit.

I think TMBTM put that on his War of the Stars DVD as an extra…although it might have been in French.
