I’m starting work on a fan edit of a movie, and I wanted to utilize a specific deleted scene. Unfortunately, this feature is unique in that it is the only feature of the movie exclusive to the iTunes release.

A few years ago it may have been more feasible to extract the downloaded extra by opening the .ite file and removing the DRM of the individual m4v file by way of a converter, but to my understanding iTunes extras now operate entirely online through the program.

I feel using some sort of screen recorder would yield less than adequate results. Would there be any possibility of getting a hold of the extra’s source video file?
