If you’re not familiar with the format in which this preservation will be delivered, I have some very bad news for you.

Looking at his other posts, you’re probably right. Oh well, I’m far from perfect.

We hope to have some upcoming news about our projects. We will be having some changes, however, there will be some interesting details on other collaborators. When the time comes, we’ll share that.

We’ve been given the OK to mention it here. But we are hoping when Harmy has the time to help out with our version of Return of the Jedi, he can assist us. To what extent, we haven’t quite gotten there yet, but we will all have to wait and see.

We look forward to his contributions, and expertise, and will post more information when appropriate.

Of course, once this project is released, he will also be using scenes for his future versions also.

Nice…Harmy working with Team N1…I’m geeking out over this!

How much cleanup is minor cleanup? Because compared to all other Jedi prints I’ve seen, this is super clean! Especially in that it is devoid of scratches, which is very unusual.

Hi Harmy, check your PM, this is probably the version you can help us out with when we get around to it.

We are still assembling our 2nd cut of it. We have a first cut from our sources, but we are now replacing some scenes with cleaned up parts.

Looks great! Looking forward to this one the most as it’s the most altered of the OT (at least to me, anyway).

I remember reading that Empire technically has the most alterations made to it–factoring in the less noticeable stuff like recompositing ships–but Jedi is far and away the most negatively impacted by the changes made to it over the years. Poor Lapti Nek…

Precisely what I was talking about. I think Empire had the most mistakes when it was originally shot but for some reason Empire seemed like the least touched of the 3 but they changed Boba Fett’s voice so that can’t be forgiven!

That may go up when you include audio changes.

It’s also probably counting Jedi rocks as one change, even though it’s basically an entire sequence replaced. Jedi may not have the most changes, but it certainly has the most damaging changes. One could make an argument that Star Wars has worse changes, but to me there’s nothing in SW:SE that hurts my viewing experience as much as some of the ROTJ changes.

Actually, Jedi Rocks is in the gallery as at least a dozen pictures.
But I do agree that ROTJ has the most damaging changes, though Ronto-ass from SW is pretty close.

This print looks like it’s in magnificent condition. Very exciting to hear about the team’s collaboration with Harmy! This just keeps getting better and better…

Jedi has one advantage over the other two: Because the entire run was on LPP (from what I know), EVERY extant 35mm print has intact color. (Some of them look too blue, but that was how they came out of the lab in 1983, it wasn’t due to fading over the years.)

Harmy & Team -1 = a match made in heaven, IMHO.

Great news, guys!

Badges?!? We don’t need no stinkin’ badges…

I gotta agree that ROTJ has by far the worst changes. To make the SE of the original at least watchable all you really gotta do is splice out a few frames to make Han shoot first. Yeah, the Mos Eisley stuff and CGI Jabba is pretty bad, but they pale in comparison to “Jedi Rocks.” And Empire isn’t really harmed at all by the changes. I certainly don’t think any of them help or were at all necessary (the original is a perfect film as it is), but the worst is changing the line “Bring my shuttle.” Hardly Earth shattering. For the most part the changes were neutral. Had no positive or negative impact on the film. If only those types of changes were made to the other two as well, I wouldn’t complain too much.

The SE of Jedi, on the other hand, is totally unwatchable. “Jedi Rocks” is one of the worst things I have ever seen, without exaggeration. Absolute cringe. I have no idea what Lucas was smoking, but I hope I never inhale any of it. The Little Sarlaac of Horrors is terrible too, and don’t even get me started on the “Noooooooo” and Hayden Christensen with his creepy ghost smirk. What little was left of Vader’s dignity from the prequels was robbed by those changes.
