ROTS is much more emotionally authentic than TFA.
The shot with all the markings on the wall that show how long Rey has been on Jakku hit me harder than anything in ROTS. That should say quite a bit.
I honestly don’t believe you.
I just remembered something else that tug at my heart strings way more than anything else in ROTS…On the 10th I saw TFA for the 4th time and when Han touched Ben’s face after getting stabbed I nearly started weeping. The first 3 viewings of the scene left me relatively unaffected but for some reason I got a concentrated dose of feels I hadn’t gotten in a Star Wars film since the Vader death scene.
I believe you, I just think that’s kind of odd. I found TFA to be so… emotionally distant. I didn’t feel ANYTHING except when Luke showed his face, but JJ ruined that too when the actors held their poses for way too long and with the disgustingly out place helicopter shot that ended the movie.
