You like the bantha herd in Jedi? I just find it to be an unnecessary aside that ruins the flow of the film. Also, in general, I despise the addition of the animals all over the desert of Tattooine. It ruins the notion that the planet is nothing but a desolate wasteland full of “scum and villainy.”
I like the scene a lot. Not because of banthas but simply because it shows a bit more of a beautiful side of the planet. It is short and doesn’t ruin the flow at all. It adds more immersion quality, which is a crucial aspect of fantasy worlds. On the other hand, I agree about creatures in ANH (Mos Eisley entry scene), which don’t add anything and are basically a distraction.
