Pretty simple really - Unlike Despecialized, Team Negative 1’s version is 100% native HD with fairly high consistent quality and it’s 100% original version. It has some color issues but so does Despecialized.
The official BD is of course cleaner and has a bit more detail, so I’m hoping Despecialized v3.0 will surpass the image quality of the TN1 version with the newly color-corrected BD as the main source and some further cleanup of the 35mm unaltered inserts. But for the biggest purists among us, Team Negative 1’s release will likely stay the go-to version.
