VLC has no problem playing it. Haven’t tried to burn to blu-ray yet. Would one want to change fps in tsmuxer or leave it?

edit: I will of course just wait until the iso version, mainly because they will tweak a few things. But I’m just curious.

Lol, the meme is gaining traction.

The meme of people being reasonable about other things being reasonable? I don’t think the internet was built for that kind of thing.

I agree! The internet was built to disagree!

does that uloz site have some kind of cap on # of downloads per day?
in jdownloader i pulled down about 20 parts, but as they finish, no new parts are starting. and if i try to force start it just sits there and says “download is waiting for a prioritized start” and never actually starts. i’m thinking i hit some kind of limit?

Very minor request: If you guys are able to release a blu-ray cover with your BD ISO that has normal blu-ray case spine width, that would be very much appreciated. The neat fading effect you have on the slim case design makes it so it can’t really be modified for other spines.

This is awesome. Any chance of a version above 25 GB? 25 GB is a little small for a 1080p movie; especially one with grain. Criterion releases of grainy movies are regularly 40+ GB.

All you have to do is upload a higher-bitrate encode somewhere, get one trusted person to download it, and have them do the time-consuming-ish work of uploading it somewhere everyone can enjoy (torrent, Usenet, file lockers). One month of 100 GB of Google Drive is $2. Just encrypt the file before uploading (surprisingly fast with 7-zip) and send it to your trusted source.

It’s really interesting to see the lightsaber duel in this print. Aside from the color, the shapes of the sabers really resemble the SE more than I expected for many shots. I always kind of liked the thicker blinding glow of Obiwan’s saber as in the GOUT and Harmy’s version. But it seems that the core was clearer than expected, rather than a more diffuse glow.

23.976, says the libav import filter I used to bring it into avisynth for further processing.
23.810, says mplayer.

Just put the MKV file into TSMuxer, with no manual frame rate adjustment. The BD-R from the resulting ISO worked fine.

There are no plans to release any versions bigger than 25 G, due to negligible differences in quality.

Also, most people don’t have double layer bluray burners or media.

I know you guys don’t want to release a 50gb image and I’m not trying to convince you.

But dual layer capable burners have been common for years (as common as blu-ray burners can get at least). I think plenty or most of the people around here who burn discs can do DL. I’ve burned all of Schorman’s ~35gb+ preservations as well as BTTF and a few others.

Furthermore, there are people around here who buy BD burners just for the sake of preservations. Some will do so for yours. They can simply make sure the thing they buy on Amazon or wherever says it can do DL, and it won’t cost them anything extra. Though the discs are closer to $2 for Verbatims, rather than $1 single layer.

That may be so, but even most people on our team don’t have them, as the unwieldiness of that size is a deterrent for working with and making changes.

As I asked earlier… Can someone point me how to GOUT sync this monster? I would love to watch this with my dad in our foreign language. Will the BD release sync to GOUT, so I would wait… 😉?

Thank you guys!

The reason for the frame-rate discrepancy is that the frame-rate of the container does not match that of the video stream. The former is wrong; the latter is right.

I’m almost done with a 720p re-encode of this that is gout-synced. It looks like it will weigh in around 9-10 GB with the dts mono mix included. If there is interest I will up it to the spleen.

What did you do about the missing frames?

Same thing I do with the laserdisc releases. Where there is a frame missing, I insert a black frame with audio silence.

That would be nice!

Is it not possible to GOUT-sync it lossless?

Not to my knowledge.

EDIT: I guess you could save it raw but then it would be well over 100GB’s.

Ah, okay. Thought it is something with cut, insert and merge or maybe smart encoding where only the added or modified content is encoded and merged together with the rest.

I did video editing myself years ago, did a concert movie in 720p/1080p of Nine Inch Nails material that was pushed from Trent to the net with multiple camera angles. Was editing it over a few month with Vegas, used Avisynth as frame server and encoded with MeGUI. Maybe the result is something for the Spleen too, maybe I share it there some day. The torrent is inactive on DIME now.

I remember that I was able to smart render some parts.

Sorry for the off topic.

I’m sure this has been asked before, but just for curiosity’s sake, are all future releases going to have the Negative-1 logo and the message before the movie starts? Not that I’m against giving credit to the artists, of course, just wondering. Also, is there any chance for somebody to sync the 5.1 mix to this?

Look up a few posts, althor1138 is planning to GOUT-sync the video, which means all other GOUT-synced resources will then work with it.
