I believe Mr. Lucas has blinded himself to his fans' perspective and we will therfore have a hard time getting a good official master of this important bit of theatrical and world history. You seem to have good playback and capturing equipment and your knowledge of video seems more than sufficient by what you say. Your method comes across very sound and I highly anticipate having a good quality OT master just for fans. I'll help however I can, if I can.
