Ooh, I like the sound of that…
FTR, I didn’t come up with that title, a couple of folks on FE came up with it.

At the risk of contributing something to this thread, I’ll mention that I didn’t like Han shooting the bowcaster three times. The first time made sense (Chewie was injured) and Han’s reaction was funny. The second time didn’t make a ton of sense (although you could argue he was able to do more damage that way) and the reaction joke fell flat because it was basically the same joke as the first time. And the third time was completely nonsensical - why wouldn’t Chewie shoot the stormtrooper, or why wouldn’t Han use his blaster?
You can’t have that hate living inside of you. That leads to the Dark Side.
The Prequels, TFA, and the Thrawn Trilogy are shit.

Your souls – swallowed, digested, and dispensed in the containment unit.
And so is OT fanboyism
I prefer using the term “OT chauvinism” to describe the mentality above.
Since I’m here, I may as well get the following off my chest:
While I’m still predisposed to regarding TFA as uninspired brouhaha, Bosk and Smoking Lizard have left me feeling way more sympathetic towards the film than I would have otherwise. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone bend over as far backwards as they to find reasons to loathe something, and I’ve done plenty of backward-bending in my time.
we don’t get a chance to see the environments, etc.
Ha, I didn’t even catch this. Now is when someone complains that we see too many environments, like the Maz world or the Luke world.
I complain earlier about those two (especially Luke’s place) being bad. Yes, if it is a bad/unfitting environment then it shouldn’t be in the film at all.

I mean, this right here says more about Bosk and Smoking Lizard than I could ever possibly say.
More I didn’t like:
-The gang on Maz’s world seeing the Hosnian (?) planets being blown up.
-The melee fight between the stormtrooper with the stun weapon and Finn with the lightsaber
-The Starkiller sucking out the sun
-Ric Olie’s son in the briefing room explaining the oscillator
-The theater employee delivering food and drinks to the family of twelve sitting right next to us, dropping things, making mistakes, and oh yeah SERVING THEM WAY PAST THE 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO SHOWTIME LIMIT THE THEATER CLAIMS TO ENFORCE. I’ve been to Alamo Drafthouse, I’m friends with Alamo Drafthouse, and you, sir, are no Alamo Drafthouse.
As much as I loved the movie, one thing felt odd.
The music isn’t that memorable, maybe it’s because I’ve only seen the film once so far but eh. I can remember Rey’s theme and that’s it, even the prequels soundtrack was more memorable and I find myself humming it once in a while.
I’m not saying the music was bad, but it isn’t memorable to me. I may end up loving and remembering it when I see it again and when I buy the soundtrack.
^I said this already 😄
Ah, I didn’t see it and I’m new to posting here 😛
Welcome…!
I was attempting and failing to express solidarity. More than one person can hold the same opinion on here. It’s all good. And yes Welcome…!

The point of the scene is to explain how Rylo Ken didn’t just squish Finn and Rey. The Bowcaster is billed as being really powerful and then Chewie shoots Ken loads of times so he has a strong handicap during the much moaned about final confrontation between them.
I liked that duel a lot. It also made the crossbars on his saber make sense when Ken twisted them into Finn’s arm.

I didn’t need to bend over to see what I actually saw on the screen, which in MY opinion is a terrible film. I’m not trying to justify it to myself merely enlighten the nieve that think it’s actually a good film bu outlining my own reasons for disliking it, which I may add are now echoed all over the net so it’s not just me!
Edit. Having read Disney are planning to release a star wars film every year until it runs dry, they will absolutely rinse it for all its worth… Maybe we will get a good film out of the many to come… I doubt it.

Well seeing you and Smoking Lizard have verged into not only having a less than rudimentary understanding of the film itself and have spewed half truths and even a few outright false hoods (Not that I haven’t gotten a couple of facts wrong while debating about TFA) one needs to examine the merit of that “opinion”. Which is highly unusual because opinions are subjective. I have seen people on here who don’t like TFA but didn’t resort the methods you and Smoking Lizard tried to employ. Especially as it pertains to the nitpicking.
which I may add are now echoed all over the net so it’s not just me
So just because we live in a cancerous meme centered culture where no one fixates on details and has to be spoonfed everything we should give you a pass? I think not.
And let me not even go into how you guys tried to twist and bend the OT to make it seem as though they didn’t share some of the same flaws. And speaking of the OT…Why are we even debating with people like you anyway? No matter how the film would have turned out you still would have found reasons to hate it. Even if the sequels are engineered to be an amazing film across the board like ESB was and even if most people think it’s better you’ll still find small reasons to hate it. Either that or you’ll make shit up to form an argument.
No new star wars film will EVER match ESB…I don’t understand TFA? If the film was good these negative posts and nitpicking wouldn’t exist. Try and find a bad review pulling Esb to bits. Type problems with tfa in Google and you’ll read pretty much everything mentioned on this site.
edit: I would have had a LOT more to complain about had any of this made the final cut http://www.telegraph.co.uk/film/star-wars-the-force-awakens/cut-scenes-deleted-footage-concept-art/

My issue was with Han using it again. Why didn’t Chewie fire the bowcaster those two times instead of Han? Sure he’s still kind of hurt, but then why is he carrying it at all? And don’t we see him fire it before Han does in that same scene? (Can’t remember for sure)

These are five things that pop into my mind when I think of what I didn’t like. I’m not going to post things I consider nit-picky.

Whereas you are right, I presume.
- I thought it was inconsistent with its tone in several places.
This is probably one of the more interesting critiques I’ve seen and I’d like you to elaborate a bit more please.
