I actually really like your idea – Rey is still of very humble origins, she’s scavenging one day, finds a lightsaber, ignites it. She’s heard the stories of the Jedi and the heroics of Luke Skywalker…she becomes intrigued…that, actually, has the makings of a really, really good story.
