Have you tired to make a master clean plate and assemble picture information that is available from the other 443 frames? If an object is completely cover up by an actor you could use the clone brush and give it a middle of the road object… You would have to roto out all the actors to achieve this master plate though. Then fill in there missing information on the frame with the cloned back ground information… The trick will be to find a frame that has the video information your looking for to clone, and then assemble it. You would have to roto out all of the actors on every frame though to re-supplement them on top of the clean frame plate.

Another trick I used for the other saber shots, was the old “CC wire removal tool” This actually warped the original saber and inverted it to make it a lot thinner. I was then able to roto the new saber with great results. This allowed me to recreate a new light saber effect without it looking too thick. The only trade off is that sometimes if will give a warping effect on the background, which can be minimized thru the settings at a key frame level. But it is a well worth trade off.

I’m undecided yet if I’d want Endor removed from the frame as well any time they share it, but nonetheless, this is an idea I’ve had stewing for a while, to turn the recycled Death Star threat of ROTJ into a new giant planetary fortification for my own drastic retelling of ROTJ.
The remastered Bunker scene you are working on will be a great addition as well to my story line. If only I were better at special effects myself, alas I’m learning slowly.

A planet underneath the Death Star?

I did suggest that the second death star be an adapted moon in the Wishlist thread. Moth3r went further and suggested that Endor be a Death Star weapon. They do read these threads you know 😄

I’m still downloading Ender’s collection, and the only thing i could do today were some color correction tests on the Bunker scene, and its looking pretty good 😃

so espn is having a special on the Lightsaber and included in the trailer is a brief shot of Luke and Vader fighting (behind the scenes shot without rotoscoped sabers) - wanted to know if you can add sabers to this brief shot for my ROTJ edit.

I will only be posting a quick update on January, you guys can still request, but i won’t be answering any time soon… sorry!

Really my most major request would be cleaning up this scene from ROTJ. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ayT0EZwbks (cropping it, cleaning up the film grime, fixing the green outline in certain parts, fixing the flashing in certain parts, and fixing the lightsaber to be skinner when Luke turns it on). Immediately after the Millennium Falcon and X-wing are shown I wouldn’t need any more footage cleaned up. I’m sure many other people making Return of the Jedi edits could also use this clip. If you are interested, I would love your help (or anyone who has experience with Photoshop, Adobe AfterEffects etc.) with my Star Wars Redone project: http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/-Star-Wars-Redone-/id/17642#761603 but the ROTJ clip is something I wouldn’t know how to fix myself.
