Despecialized: RotJ v1.0 or v2?

Has anyone had any problems with the newest version of RotJ? Its just I’m not sure which to burn to Bluray, that or V1. I think V2.0 is safe n sound enough.

Also, apparently the RotJ links are all dead…

Just wait a few weeks for the final V2 if you want to burn it. If you want to watch it today, use the V2 workprint that was modified by another member here. It’s imperfect and has a disclaimer over the Fox logo.

oh i didn’t know a final one was coming out in a few weeks. What’s so bad about the workprint that would prevent my viewing of it? As long as its functions and is marginally better image quality than V1 I can’t see the point in waiting for an “official” release.

Nothing. That’s why I suggested the workprint (the modified one) if you want to watch it now. But don’t burn it as your official copy as an update is coming out, soon. And, like I said, I wouldn’t want my archived copy to have a warning screen over the Fox logo, but I didn’t care for a viewing.

The biggest issues with the workprint are that it’s missing some alien subtitles, and it contains a very obvious and fairly jarring special edition change. If you can’t get/make a modified workprint, go for v1 or wait for v2 proper. Image quality is a huge improvement in v2, but if the whole point of despecialized is to not have the special edition changes, the vanilla workprint really has an issue there.

Yep. But, to clarify, I wouldn’t burn either the 2-WP or 1.0 to put on my shelf right now. Just wait for 2.0, unless it is really your only way to watch and you don’t mind going through discs.

Fair play, I’ll do as you say.
Let’s all hope for a V2 complete trilogy very soon indeed!
