You have an account on myspleen? Okay, now you should search for Harmy’s Despecialized Editions on Myspleen. Then you download the Torrent file and you need a bittorrent client like uTorrent or Transmission… Then you need to open the torrent file and download the MKV or AVCHD ISOs…

BTW Myspleen is having its annual Freeleech time which would make Harmy’s not account towards your Ratio…

It keeps telling me that I’m not putting in my password/username in correctly, but I know for sure I’m putting in the right information. And I keep getting pop-ups saying my flash player is out of date, but it isn’t. These ads aren’t letting me leave unless I quit my browser, even when I have AdBlock on. What gives?

I have to chime in here and agree with the OP. Maybe I’m just a nitwit, but I’ve never been able to get that document or Harmy’s instructions to work. The whole thing seems to hinge on an account on tehParadox, which is a forum, but you have to sign up for an account, which then needs to be validated by a moderator, and no one ever bothers to validate. So you never get an account and you’re dead in the water.

Says nothing about not being able to view forum posts and seeing the download links provided in said forum post. I never validated my account, but didn’t see the need to since it’s all right there.

Granted, maybe I’m in the wrong since I never actually attempted to download any of the files (data caps man). Maybe it blocks you from using the download links if not validated, but not sure how that would be the case.

Edit: Welp, appears even you can get your account working, the recent posters are saying most of the links are missing/broken now. So never mind then.

Edit 2: There’s an updated thread with working links. If you cannot get a validated account and unable to use the search function, go to that guide, click the original thread link to Tehparadox it gives. Then, scroll to the bottom where the “Tags” are listed. Click “harmy” and it will take you to another page where it lists all the threads containing the word harmy. Click the second thread link, and there you go, updated links.

Thanks for trying to help. There are many problems with this method and this document. Not the least of which is Microsoft views that JDownloader as malware and blocks it from being installed.

I get that what Harmy is doing is just barely on this side of legal and could be viewed as piracy, but I would think there’d be a better way to download it.

I use jdownloader2 with absolutely no problem. Do make sure you turn off / reject all add-ons.

And you don’t have to use jdownloader anyway. There are several other options to download the links.

FWIW I’ve had no problems with tehparadox either.

Try googling jdownloader alternatives. I think decrypt (?) is one but don’t quote me on that. You can also just download the links manually in a browser, one at a time…slow going but it works.

I don’t see how one affects the other. tehparadox is how you get the links. Jdownloader (and other options) are how you download the links. Once you have the links, you don’t need tehparadox anymore.

Good news. I think I may have it working. At your recommendation, I went to JDownloader.org and downloaded their version 2 of the software. Windows allowed it to install. Then I went to the “Can’t access tehParadox” instructions in the Google docs instruction guide and followed those instructions, and it seems to be working.

So far, so good. Thank you so much for your help. I’d really love to have an HD version of ANH without dinosaurs.

1. Be sure to use jDownloader2 and keep it updated
2. I think all releases have only the movie and no special features. NTSC DVD would be 480p (or 480i), mkv is 720p, so there’s a pretty big difference in resolution. And also the mpeg2 codec used for DVD is far inferior to x264

How many of these threads do we need?
