Couple of random thoughts/musings:

Is Princess Leia the new Jar Jar Binks? Her acting was so wooden. There was nothing behind her aged face that reminded me of Princess Leia. When I saw Han Solo bound thru the door of the Falcon the first time, he seemed very much like Han Solo. I didnt see Princess Leai in this film at all. Fisher might as well have been playing a different character. Will Leia become a drag on each film gong forward?

The Falcon scenes were all amazing right up until Han Solo got killed. After that moment I think the Falcon will forever haunt me. Seeing Chewy in the pilot’s seat was weird. I’d never seen him sitting in that spot. Seeing Rey in that seat going forward is going to feel awkward for me. I think we’ve all come to grips with the fact that Han Solo was going to die no matter what. But it doesnt change the fact that our imagination with regard to Han Solo is somehow ‘capped’. After ROTJ our heroes lived on in our imaginations. I mean movie heroes don’t die. James Bond will never have a death scene. Neither will Indiana Jones. I’m not criticizing the film because of the death of Solo…it’s just different and a bit of a paradigm shift to see a fictional hero from my childhood meet his demise. It happens in comics I suppose but its new for a movie hero. The real possibility exists that all 3 of the main OT characters will be killed off by the end of the new trilogy.
