My other question is; what if some of the adjustments Lucas made to the films are good? I love the old school puppet graphics much more than cgi, but the lightsaber thing … surely we don’t wanna see a dodgy yellow flare?

With love and light, Richie

If the yellow flare was in the original, it stays in this version as Harmy is aiming to preserve the original theatrical editions in HD.

If you want a version of the film that keeps some of the special edition alterations then i recommend you check out the semi specialized edits by KK650 http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/kk650s-Star-Wars-Saga-Regraded-and-Semi-Specialized/id/15637

Yes. Or Hal9000’s.

Rich: Either way, just don’t expect Harmy to do it. It’s not the goal of the project. And the fact of the matter is that everyone will want different changes included in their ‘semi-specialized’ versions. There’s no objective line to draw. For instance, a couple days ago, I decided I wanted to watch a semi-specialized version that has zero of the Tatooine CGI animals in it. One doesn’t exist, so I made my own.

But yes, I think it is a case of mis-remembering when it comes to the lightsaber clashes. See here: https://picasaweb.google.com/102542760950977079734/StarWarsSpecialEditionChangesHD#5553982793858346322
