No, there are a couple of things to consider:

1. The tool cannot be used to color black and white images
2. Always remove black bars
3. Large pieces of dirt/damage in a frame can result in artifacts in the resulting image

I haven’t read the whole thread, so sorry if this has been addressed before.

Whatever I do, all the options aside from the import options are greyed out. I’ve tried following the read me, but nothing works. Can someone help?

First import and crop the images. Make sure you close all images, before you can proceed.

God, I love the SW BD with laserdisc colors.

I tested the color correction model on other scenes in the bluray, but it doesn’t look that great for many other scenes. You would really need to do a shot by shot correction.

It’s not like you can’t use different LUTs for different shots in AviSynth. Plus it would be nice to have an on-the-fly LUT-solution (without rendering to a new file)… for example I’ve created a LUT for the 35mm scan of Jurassic Park, to get rid of the green tint and for brightening the image a bit. But I would have to render it out via AfterEffects to see it applied.

^ Yes. And I’m confident that it’s possible to find a compromise LUT that will do a decent job for most of a given film. (There will almost certainly be some scenes that require separate LUTs.)

You got some artifacting on the lobster’s arm there.

Yes, this is a difficult one, that requires some more work.

Here’s another attempt at regrading of one the lobster shot. The artifacts are reduced, but since they’re also present in the shadows of the source, it cannot be completely removed. Aside from the correcting the unnatural skin tones, R2D2’s blue panels are really screwed up in the bluray:
