It could be that they softened her character purposefully? Maybe seeing Finn defect affected her and she is heading down that same road and starting to question the First Order’s motives. That is why she put the shields down without much of a fight. Maybe we see her leave the First Order in the next film. Just an idea.That’s going to be my new Star Wars motto from now on. Should everyone who is presented as a hero/villian always stay on that path? I don’t think having a character or two have a change of heart is necessarily a bad thing.
