Just got back from seeing it a second time. I felt like I enjoyed it as much as the first.
“The Jedi Steps” is really the best thing on the soundtrack, IMO. Seeing Luke this 2nd time around gave me goosebumps – again! And I knew it was coming (of course). Overall John Williams score is a little mediocre but it serves the film well when it needs to.
Something I noticed this second time, it probably means nothing. The camera lingers on Rey for a few more moments than one would expect when Han is first acknowledging the force and that is real. There is a lone close-up of just her and it’s like she’s processing it. FWIW, I’m now thoroughly convinced Rey is Luke’s daughter. And that perhaps she was exposed to all of this before she was dropped on Jakku. But, like most children, they only remember things after a certain age.
Also, something to remember…just because Rey was with Luke before being dropped off doesn’t mean she ever knew he was LUKE SKYWALKER, the Jedi Knight.
