Roddenberry biopic? I don’t think such things are beyond the realm of possibility. Or at least a making of TOS show. One of the guests I’ve had on my podcast recently hinted at it, don’t remember if it was on the record.

It really bugs me that the only TV station I get that shows TOS on its schedule refuses to ever air “The Cage”.

The Cage being longer than the average TOS episode, it suffers more being cut for syndication.
You can pick up the early 2000’s DVD release pretty cheap on Ebay these days. It was in Volume 40 of the single disc two episode versions. I watched some of mine earlier this year, and they still look pretty good.

A guy on my youtube channel claims he has seen a pan & scan videotape of Star Trek V, where some alternate takes were used, " Most notably when McCoy and Spock are on the bridge looking at a monitor".
Anybody else heard about this ? I can’t find info about this version anywhere

That JJ should find another band than Beastie Boys. I mean they were pretty good (in their punk years, I never liked their rap stuff) but Beastie Boys go together with Star Trek like Star Wars and Bea Arthur.

It’s a short teaser trailer emphasizing action. Not going to have a cow over a minute and a half of footage.
Not crazy about the big E getting shot to pieces again, but the idea of the crew making do without their ship could be interesting. Nice Spock/McCoy moment in any case.

Kirk was established as a Beastie Boys fan in the 2009 film. It’s nice change from everybody being into Shakespeare and classical music all the time in Trek.

ST 2009 wasn’t bad, Into Darkness was barely worth a rewatch (picked it up on Blu-ray and enjoyed it far less than my first viewing in the theater), and I expect Beyond to plunge Trek further into the abyss. “From the director of Fast & Furious” is the last thing I want to see at the front of a Trek trailer.
I have TOS and TNG on Blu-ray. Give me decent remasters of the TOS and TNG cast films and DS9 on Blu-ray and I won’t care if they never touch Trek again.

Well the trailers for the last 2 movies were unfortunately a very good representation of the actual movies 😦
