Need help with a Star Wars Infinities idea!

I’ve been making some notes for a “Infinities” story that changes bits and pieces of the PT backstory. Here, my idea to have the OT’s Obi-Wan and Vader clones of the PT’s Obi-Wan and Anakin, and see how it affects the OT.

This is applying old OT fan theories to PT, hopefully making sense of confusion connections between the OT and PT (recognizing R2 and 3PO, about Obi-Wan serving under Organa, why hide Luke on Vader’s homeworld, etc.) and help connect the films to the Legends Expanded Universe, too.

Originally, I planned only Vader to be a clone of Anakin, which I’ve mentioned before in another thread (http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/A-Modern-Re-Intepretation-of-Star-Wars/id/16723), but I included old Ben Kenobi because of the OB-1 theory. The problem is that I already finished the story outline and finished the prologue.

I’m finding it hard trying to outline a new story. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

Screw lightsabers, I’ll stick with regular swords. At least they won’t blow up in my face like this franchise has.

I’m willing to give whatever input I can. Although I personally don’t like the idea of Ben Kenobi as a clone.

First though, a question: For this overarching story how many stories do you wish it to entail?
(i.e. 3 stories sticking to the trilogy convention? Or more/less?)

Thinking the unthinkable indeed.

Thanks for the help. The idea was to be a trilogy, and the original versions were given these titles:

1st: Secrets in the Blood (Between ESB and RoTJ, 3.5 ABY)

2nd: A Jedi Lost (RotJ, 4 ABY)

3rd: Knights of the New Order (Post-RotJ, 10 ABY)

Like I said, my problem is that I already finished the prologue and story outline for my old idea of Vader only being the clone, and I decided to make OT Obi-Wan a clone just to fit with the stuff the PT made up (but I don’t blame you for not liking the clone Obi-Wan idea).

One further question: are we taking ANH and ESB as rote, from which your trilogy of stories follows on?
Or are you rewriting them as well as ROTJ?

For this story, ANH is well established, no doubt about that. For ESB, it was in the original draft, but I’m still working on that bit. As for RotJ, yes that’s sorta rewritten.

In the original draft (where it was only Vader being a clone), it begins with the Bespin duel in ESB, where Vader tells Luke “Obi-Wan killed your father!” The revelation sends Luke on a journey to discover that Vader’s a clone of his father, and Vader did tell the truth of Obi-Wan killing Anakin (seemingly anyway), but it was because of Vader’s machinations. Luke then, goes to Tatooine to build his new lightsaber.

The 2nd part deviated from RotJ, revealing that Anakin survived. It’s further revealed that Anakin originally helped Vader to eliminate the Jedi for the emperor. The emperor has Anakin infiltrate the rebels, who are planning to attack Death Star II, and trying to have Vader killed off. Luke, learning the truth, is startled about his father, but he managed to rescue Vader. The Death Star is damaged, not destroyed, and the emperor’s body is destroyed only for him to transfer into a clone body (remember, this is based off of the Legends EU). The rebels, claiming a major victory with the very emperor defeated, establish themselves as the New Republic, claiming Coruscant at the very end.

Part 3 is five years after RotJ, where Luke is trying to rebuild the Jedi Order while dealing with the reborn Emperor. Vader, imprisoned by the New Republic for info on the Empire’s bases, questions about his loyalty to the Dark Side and slowly turns more grey (and a sort of anti-hero, in that respect). Anakin is still in service to the Empire, is planning to overthrow the emperor and rebuild the Jedi Order in his own image. Teaming with Vader, Luke manages to bring Anakin’s recruits to their side and they stop the emperor from retaking Coruscant. In the final battle, Anakin sees the error of his ways and captures the emperor’s spirit in his dying body. The story ends with Vader going into the Unknown Regions while Luke begins training new Jedi.

Sweet, that’s a good assortment of building blocks to work with.
If you’re inspired by the (early) post-ROTJ legends EU, does that mean I can leach Mara into this tale somewhere? 😉

I have some ideas for an outline with those concepts; I’ll put it all together in my next reply.

I already have Mara Jade, Kam Solusar, Sarris from Dark Forces II: Jedi Knights, and Sedris from the Dark Empire comics. They were mainly to be Anakin’s Jedi students, save for Mara who was cast aside by the emperor after part 2 and Sedriss was more of the emperor’s spy to watch over Anakin. Two get killed off, and the other two live on (pretty easy to tell who those 2 are).
