The strange thing is John Wayne shot first all the time. If there is guy pointing a gun at you, then there is the specific intention that they are going to kill you. So in that case you shoot first. And the Duke did sometimes shoot first if you had a gun him.
Only thing the Duke had a problem with was shooting a man in the back which is totally different

How can you fan edit shite, I mean any attempt to rectify the prequels is just a waste of effort. You can only work with the material given, which in the prequels is all terrible. No amount of editing will make any good of those films! I totally understand the de-specialised fan edits of the OT, they make complete sense and are amazing and I take my hat of to Harmy!

The phantom edit and Mangolian (sp) , I gave up after that, I can’t watch the other two at all, TPM was the better of the three IMO but it can not be saved.

Han was never a “cold-blooded killer”. Greedo was gonna kill Han no matter what. He had just said so!

Han’s actions were perfectly justified.… His life was threatened and he was at the wrong end of a bounty hunters weapon. In that moment it is kill or be killed.
I don’t understand how George can be that far removed from reality …

We’re talkin’ “agenda” here. Lucas is an Orwellian propagandist – he says one thing when it suits him, and then a different thing when that suits him. That’s probably why he’s always so glum. Nobody is getting all his secret meanings; and when he spells it out, nobody cares about his secret meanings. They think Star Wars is about spaceships (for the boys) and sex-symbols (for the girls). And it is!

I don’t get all the Lucas bashing, the man is a legend. When I read Skywalking I was in awe of the man. Granted SW should have been left well alone, there was a reason Fox only wanted the middle part of his saga, even then they realised the rest of it was weak. People forget he was directly involved in some awesome films like Labyrinth, The Dark Crystal and Willow, not because they have strong scripts or are master pieces but because they have the Myth and magic that the OT had. It’s such a shame it went pears.
