Willy Wonka was too "70s kids movie" to me. Like Disney's "Bedknobs and Broomsticks", you know? Both movies have that creepy early 70s thing going on, the plot is bizarre almost surrealistic, and the kid actors are too irritating to watch. Tim Burton will probably add some Danny Elfman soundtrack (basically depressive kids going "la la la la"), add some goth-depressive aura to the whole thing, and change the ending.
