Sequels that should never be... — Page 5

It seems to happen to every Disney movie, they make one movie with an A-List actor and follow it up with sequels that have actors that they just keep around to make these sequels(IG2 and HA4 both have the same guy in it, the one from 3rd rock from the sun).

I thought there was only one sequel to "smokey and the bandit", the one in which the have to transport an elephant and don deluise.

Wasn't that Operation Dumbo Drop?

no, dumbo drop is a diff one...i think ric is right, the second one is an elephant and i have no idea about the third.

I can check when i get home as i have all three...i originally only bought the first...my dvd started acting up and i went to replace it...for like $3 more or something really cheap i could just get the pursuit pack...i figured why not since all the extras on my original first dvd still worked and it was only the first 15 minutes of the movie that had problems...so i bought that...even though i only vaguely remember seeing the 2nd and never knew about the third.

Best not to remember the third. As I recall, Burt Reynolds doesn't even star in it. He may have a token appearance, but he couldn't be bothered to do the entire film.

Princess Leia: I happen to like nice men.
Han Solo: I'm a nice man.

There should be no Indiana Jones 4.

There should never have been a Mighty Ducks 3.

Does "Elektra" count as a sequel?

Sylvester Stallone has gone mad!
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an Obi-Wan to go.

Red heads ROCK. Blondes do not rock. Nuff said.

Elektra would be a spinoff, in the "Joanie Loves Chachi" sense of the word. The same would be true of the planned Magneto and Wolverine movies.

Oh. Anyhow, "Elektra" looks like crap and from what I heard, it's doing badly at the box office, as crap should.

LOL

I love when crappy movies go bad at box office...

Do you realize how weird it was to see the same avatars talking back and forth. Quite disturbing.

Sorry, Simon. I meant my comment as a joke, but forgot the winkie. My bad. Just an allusion to the whole elephant=Dom DeLuise thing.

How about those "Revenge of the Nerds" sequels? I saw one where Lewis had a ponytail(?) and Stan Gable was the dean of the college. Even Booger made a cameo (probably desperate for money).

Speaking of which, I heard that they are planning a remake of "Revenge of the Nerds". Is nothing sacred?!?!

I remember seeing that one, Lewis was supposedly "betraying" his nerd friends by NOT being a nerd or something like that.

A remake? They should make another sequel... I loved the nerds movies, it reminds me of my highschool and college years.

There were 3 RotN sequels. I've seen them all on TV.

Revenge of the Nerds 2: Nerds in Paradise
Revenge of the Nerds 3: don't recall name
Revenge of the Nerds 4: Nerds in Love

You are thinking of #3 Windexed.

My thoughts exactly.

I hate the way movies portray nerds as losers with one frined or less and where fifties clothes. Stupid.

In real life, we have many friends, usually online, and dress as inconspicuously as possible.

I can vouch for that, although I have friends out of the cyberworld.

The New Pink Panther movie shouldn't have been made, is no franchise safe anymore?

I agree with you there. No one NO ONE can play Inspector Clouseau but Peter Sellers. With all due respect to Steve Martin, there is no way he can fill Sellers' shoes. Whoever decided this movie would be good idea should be shot.

They are making a live action pink panther movie?

What the crap? Nobody ever even spoke in that show.
